These terms describe what Novasieve provides, what it costs, and — just as importantly — what it does not claim to do. They are written to be read rather than skimmed past.
Not legal advice, and not lawyer-reviewed. These terms describe the product accurately. Whether every clause is enforceable is a different question, and consumer-protection law in Kenya and in your own country overrides parts of what is written below regardless of what it says.
Novasieve (“the service”) is provided by SummitStrive Investments Limited (“we”, “us”), a private company registered in Kenya under company number PVT-5JUZ59X3, whose registered office is at HH Towers, Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi CBD, Starehe District, Nairobi County, Kenya. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not create one.
Novasieve watches open scholarly databases for research topics you save, removes duplicate records across those databases, remembers which papers you have already been shown, and presents what is new — with abstracts, DOI details, citation figures where the source provides them, and export to reference managers.
It is a discovery and monitoring tool. What it returns depends entirely on what the underlying databases hold, index and expose.
It does not draw conclusions. Novasieve does not summarise, paraphrase, interpret or rank papers by quality. Every title, abstract and figure it shows is reproduced from the source database. Nothing on a paper is written by a machine.

Prices are in US dollars. Your payment provider may present a local currency and may charge conversion fees we neither set nor receive. Where sales tax or VAT applies, it is handled at checkout.
Every team member is paid for. Creating a team requires your own paid plan or a paid seat on a team. Each member you add needs either their own paid plan or one of the team’s paid seats, which the team’s owner can buy. Every member on the team counts toward the seat total, including the owner, members with their own paid plan and pending invitations. A team with no free seat cannot add someone who is not on a paid plan. A shared workspace is not a way to extend one subscription across a group.
A paid seat is the Pro plan. A member holding one of a team’s paid seats gets everything the Pro column above provides, for as long as they hold the seat; the team, not the member, is billed for it. When the seat ends, for example because the team stops paying for its seats, the member returns to the free plan, or to their own paid plan if they have one.
A declined card does not cut you off immediately. Access continues for a 21-day grace period measured from the first failed charge, while the payment is retried, and you will see a notice with the date access would pause and a link to fix your card. If the window passes, nothing is deleted — your topics, library and history remain, and renewing restores access to them.
Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, so we do not refund part-used periods — you continue to receive what you paid for until it runs out. If you were charged in error, or something on our side stopped the service working for a period you paid for, write to us and we will put it right.
Where consumer law in your country gives you a right to cancel or a refund, that right applies regardless of what this section says.
Do not:
The open databases we query have their own terms. When you use the service you are also relying on their data, and those terms continue to apply to it.
Your topics, notes, comments, extracted data and library remain yours. We claim no ownership of them. We store and process them only to operate the service for you, as described in the privacy notice.
Where you post into a shared team workspace, the other members of that team can read what you posted — that is what the workspace is for.
Bibliographic records and abstracts retrieved from the open databases are not ours and not yours; they belong to their publishers and to the databases, under those parties’ own licences.
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or complete in its coverage of the literature.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for rights consumer-protection law gives you that cannot be signed away.
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. If a change materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will notify account holders by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the change.
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes will be heard by the courts of Kenya. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
